THE SNARLING MUTTS

Grandma walked past them every day

Telling each and every mutt,

“Go home, little doggie, go home,”

Which puzzled them to no end

Since that’s where they all were,

Barking in front of their own homes

On a side road no one else walked,

But her and a stray who always

Trailed after her part of the way

And himself had nothing to say.
