LOUIS DE PAOR

Louis De Paor le Amanda Gentile

Foilsíodh Rogha dánta leis sa bhliain 2011, a rogha féin as seacht gcnuasach a d’fhoilsigh Coiscéim as Gaeilge idir 1988 agus 2010. Is é an leabhar dhátheangach The brindled cat and the nightingale’s tongue (Bloodaxe 2014) an leabhar filíochta is déanaí dá chuid.

Tolláin

Ní cuimhin liom í a chur ann,

mo láimh athardha timpeall ort

is tú go domhain id chodladh

in aice liom, ach tá sí ann

ar a shonsan nuair a dhúisím

is an traein díreach ag teacht

ón dtollán fuar go gcaitheann

gach éinne againn dul tríd

ó am go ham le deimhniú arís

go bhfuil solas fós ar lasadh

ag ceann eile an phoill. Is rófhada

i gcónaí de bheagán an turas sin

aníos ar ais nó go mbraithim

na doirse ag oscailt, an ghrian

ag éirí id shúil chodlatach

is tú ag dúiseacht in aice liom,

mo láimh mharbh timpeall ort

dod tharraingt ón bpoll atá romhat

i gcónaí dem ainneoin lom

is nach cuimhin liom riamh a chur ann.
