MARIA ISAKOVA BENNETT

 

 

Maria lives and works in Liverpool, her poetry, reviews and interviews have been published widely in, amongst others, Bare Fiction, Crannog, Envoi, Manchester Review, Orbis, Tears in the Fence, The Interpreter's House, and Southword. 

She has been highly commended in the Gregory O’ Donoghue Poetry Competition, shortlisted in the Munster Literature Chapbook Competition, and awarded first prize in the Ver Open Competition judged by Clare Pollard in 2014. 

In October 2016, Maria was commissioned to write a poem for Liverpool for BBC radio. She has been shortlisted and placed in several International Poetry Competitions including, Bridport, Mslexia, and The Keats-Shelley Prize. Maria collaborates with poet Michael Brown on projects in galleries on Merseyside. Her debut pamphlet, Caveat, was published by Poetry Bus Ireland.
